Engine co. 15 is located at 1409 Ash st. and was built in 1859 it is the oldest station still in service in the city. Engine co. 15 responds to all of Petersburg, the Hill section, parts of Central City and parts of Green Ridge on first alarms. In the event of a second alarm Engine co. 15 responds to Central City, Green Ridge, North Scranton, South Scranton and the Plot Section. Engine co.15 also responds to assist Dunmore FD when requested. One of the original volunteer companies, The Relief Engine co. 3 called this address home. Prior to the formation of Engine co. 15, Hose co. 1 and Hose co. 9 would both at serve time at this station. Hose co. 9 would become Engine co. 15 when the city stopped using hose companies in the late 1960’s. The building would remain unchanged until undergoing seven months of major remodeling and reopen in October of 1980. Engine 15 is a 1989 Sutphen pumper with a 1500 gpm pump and a 750 gallon booster tank. Engine co. 15 has three Firefighters assigned to it, but is usually staffed with only two.
