Massive Fire in PineBrook 8/5/2015 (PHOTOS)
Posted On: Aug 05, 2015

At 7:53 pm on August 5, 2015 crews were dispatched to 1201 Capouse Ave. the Clubhouse Bar. Engine Co. 4, Engine Co. 8, Rescue Co. 1, Truck Co. 2 and Car 21 were dispatched.  Comm Center reported that this was a confirmed fire with entrapment, moments later the officer of Rescue Co. 1 reported heavy smoke and fire visible.  The officer also reported a victim in a window who was safely removed by firefighters.  The assistant chief requested a second alarm just as he was arriving which added Engine Co. 2, Engine Co. 10, Engine Co. 7, Car 30, Car 26, Car 22, Car 5, Car 1, Fire Inspector #3 and Fire Inspector #4 to the call.  A-Shift firefighters were fighting an uphill battle as flames spread from second floor to third and finally breaking through the roof. Air horns blared after the order was given to evacuate the structure.  Dunmore FD's Ladder truck was requested to assist and set up on the Walnut St. side, they began flowing water moments before a large portion of the rear and side of the building collapsed without warning.  In all four supply lines were established, almost 2000 feet of attack hose line was put into service along with the master streams to battle the massive conflagration.  Off duty personnel from C- Shift staffed four pieces of apparatus.  Fire crews would remain on scene long into the night and into the next day.

The Officer in Charge was Acting Assistant Chief, Capt. J. Cooney
