Busy Night for C-Shift 1/31/2015

On January 31, 2015 C-Shift would have two structure fires back to back during the early frigid early morning hours. First a fire was reported at 2:10 am for 108 S. Irving Ave. Engine Co. 4, Engine Co. 2, Truck Co. 2, Rescue Co. 1 and Car 21 were dispatched. Comm. Center reported that a victim was being helped off the porch roof by a neighbor, Car 21 activated the SRN which added Engine Co. 10 and Engine Co. 7 to the incident. C- Shift crews stretched hand lines from Engine Co. 4 while the other companies performed search and ventilation, mutiple family pets were removed by firefighters on scene. A Fire Inspector was called to the scene. This incident was closed at 3:37 am.
A fire was reported at 3:35 am for 800 James Ave at The Mill, Engine Co. 10, Engine Co. 4, Truck Co. 2, Rescue Co. 1 and Car 21 were dispatched. Firefighters found a small fire in an apartment were able to quickly extinguish it, smoke filled the building and much time was spent removing it. The incident was closed by 5:32 am.
